Dr. Richard Adams joined the faculty at Texas Woman's University in 2015. He has performed with Center Stage Brass, Imperial Brass, Dallas Opera, Dallas Winds, Lone Star Wind Orchestra, Lyric Stage , the Richardson Symphony Orchestra, and other independent performances. in the Dallas/Fort Worth and Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan areas. He has performed as a guest artist for the Great Plains Regional Tuba Euphonium Conference, Texas Clarinet Colloquium, II.
Internacional de Musica Erudita de Piracicaba, Music from Greer and Colorado Mahlerfest since 2019. Richard has recorded with the University of North Texas Wind Symphony for several volumes of GIA Publications' Teaching Music Through Performance series. He has also recorded for the Standard of Excellence “Jazz in Concert” series published by the Neil A. Kjos Music Company.

 

As an educator, Dr. Adams has taught at Center Stage Brass Summer Camp, Pursuit of Music Chamber Brass Camp, Dallas Trumpet Workshop, Adjunct Trumpet Instructor at Abilene Christian University, McMurry University, as a professor at the University of North Texas, and college preparation. Instructor for the International Music Camp. Richard was a recipient of an International Trumpet Guild Conference Scholarship in 2006. Richard's former teachers include Keith Johnson, David Baldwin, Gary Bordner, Karen Gustafson, James Klages, and Stephen Goforth. He is a member of the Texas Music Educator's Association and the International Trumpet Guild.
