Christy Springer received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Music at the University of North Texas, where she studied saxophone performance with Dr. Eric Nestler. Christy plays saxophone, flute, and clarinet in musicals at many of the local theaters in the area, and has been performing in musical theater for 15 years. She performs in various ensembles and orchestras throughout the metroplex and state, and has performed at regional, national, and world saxophone conferences.  She performs regularly with the Lyric Stage Production Company, which presents musical theater with full orchestra in Irving, TX.  She has also performed as a saxophonist with the Richardson Symphony, the Irving/Las Colinas Symphony, the Garland Symphony, the East Texas Symphony, and the Waco Symphony.  Christy teaches about 40 saxophone students in the Coppell and Lewisville school districts in Texas, and has been teaching privately for 20 years, 16 of those years at Coppell High School, and 18 years at Marcus High School.  During that time, she has had students selected for the Texas 5A All-State Band for 14 years in a row. She has also had students selected as outstanding soloists at the Lewisville ISD and Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contests. In 2004, she recorded a CD of the complete collection of saxophone etudes from the "48 Famous Studies" by W. Ferling, a CD which sells to saxophone players and instructors in Texas and worldwide.
