Blake Birmingham is an American euphoniumist, Composer, and Educator.

Fortunate enough to study with two of his heroes; Blake earned his Masters and Bachelors Degrees in Euphonium Performance from the University of North Texas where he studied under David Childs, and Dr. Brian Bowman, respectively.

While at North Texas, Blake was a Graduate Teaching Fellow for the Euphonium studio, performed with the North Texas Wind Symphony, taught undergraduate lessons, and conducted a tuba euphonium ensemble.

Blake has also had a wide variety of success and experience in solo competitions. Most notably, Blake was awarded 1st prize in the 2018 Leonard Falcone International Euphonium Artist Competition.

Blake performs regularly as a member of the Lone Star Wind Orchestra, as a featured guest soloist, and as a teacher/clinician. A few highlights include guest artist appearances at Stephen F. Austin St. University, Texas Womans University, Oklahoma City University, Missouri St. University, The Litha Symphony Orchestra, OkMEA, Musical for All National Concert Band Festival, and the United States Army Band Tuba-Euphonium Workshop and more.

Recently, Blake has become more involved in commissioning and premiering new works for the euphonium. His goal is to try to stretch the euphonium into other genres, and bring more people who are not as familiar with the instrument, or classical music into the world of the euphonium.

He currently serves as Adjunct Professor of Low Brass at East Central University in Ada Oklahoma, and is the private euphonium teacher for Coppell ISD in Coppell, Texas.

His students consistently receive superior ratings at solo contests and have success in Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas All-State Bands. Former students have also gone on to attend universities such as Florida St. University, The University of North Texas, Oklahoma University, Eastman School of Music, and many more.

Blake currently resides in the Dallas Fort/Worth metroplex, where he is in high demand as a guest soloist and teacher. He enjoys playing poker and golf, and spending time with his cat, "Hans".

Blake is the director of the North Texas Low Brass Camp, and is proud to be a Besson Artist, as well as a Brass.Lab MOMO Artist. Blake exclusively plays on the Besson Prestige 2052 euphonium, and MP-M2 MOMO mouthpiece.
